Early Morning
Today Terry got up at 4:30 am. Troy and I woke to an abrupt slam as Terry kicked his bedroom door in rapped succession. After a few minutes of debate as to whether we should get Terry and bring him to bed with us or not I got up and took Terry potty and sent him off to our bed.
This move let up listen to frequent "Ut Oh's" as the minutes on the digital clock changed. After an hour of that, and a few "momma up" and even a "get up". I did at 6:15 am, after he pinched me hard enough on my upper arm to leave an inch long & 1/4 inch wide bruise. We didn't go where he wanted though. I took him off to his room where we laid down till a few minutes after 7am.
Once I told Terry he could get up, he bounded down the stairs to the computer. I fixed him scrambled eggs for breakfast and argued with him to get his undies on while he tried to ignore me and pay Age of Empires. I eventually won and a half dressed Terry bounced between his food at the table and the computer while I finished up breakfast for everyone else.
(Apparently Cassie got so thrown off her morning ritual, by my fixing a hot breakfast that she headed off to school with her lunch bag - but no lunch!)
A dressed and medicated little guy headed to the bus in a fairly good mood, given the hour he got up. Troy and I waited to here he'd had a melt down at school - amazingly enough, only one issue today, and otherwise it appears that it went pretty well.
Trip to Busch Garden
Yesterday, Troy, the younger two and I headed off to Busch Gardens. We made a wonderful evening of it. Terry road his first "grown up" roller coaster. The first one we road was the Loche Ness Monster. Terry sat with dad and Cassie road with me. I think Cassie was more concerned about the ride than Terry was.
We stopped by Guest Services and got Terry all set up for the special needs program with the park. We can now stopped at rides he's able to go on and set him up in the virtual cue so that he doesn't have to wait in line and we can come back after the "designated" wait time and get straight on. We didn't use it today - the lines weren't too bad, but I can see it being very useful later in the summer when the wait times increase and the temperatures rise.
Cassie and Troy road Apollo's chariot while Terry and I road the Roman Rapids. We got soaked! Then Terry and I waited on Cassie and Troy and their rides wait time was a bit longer than ours. Terry ended up napping on me for nearly 45 minutes, while Cassie and Troy did Roman Rapids. He was waking up about the time they got back.. now we were all wet!
Being wet, we road Escape from Pompeii and then headed over to the Sesame Street area. Terry enjoyed looking around, but was tired and didn't want to do any more rides. Busch Gardens is having fireworks every night at 9:30 till late August, so when they started tonight Terry jumped. I got him up on a seat and stood with him to watch. I think he enjoyed them, I know I did.
Over all, it was a very nice evening.
Website gets a facelift
I'm working to update the site. Maybe make it something that is actually useful to the family and yet still limiting the about of personal information that is shared with the world. We'll see how it goes.
